Presbyterian Historical Society’s (PHS) Facility, located in the Society Hill section of Philadelphia, had not received significant renovation since its original construction in the mid-1960s. GKO Architects was engaged to develop a Master Plan that would address a number of issues PHS was having with the internal layout. Alternative designs were prepared to reorganize and expand the facility in several construction phases. Security, Staff work areas, expansion of archival areas, building systems / infrastructure, and reading room areas for patron use were some of the issues that were dealt with in the design alternatives explored. Phase One, a renovation of the MEP System, is currently underway.
